About Nosonja

What is Nosonja?

Nosonja is a modern operating system based on the one of the best Linux distribution, Arch. Nosonja works out of the box. It is also a rolling release distribution so you don’t have to reinstall OS every few months to have latest software.

Out of box!

Once you’ve installed Nosonja you’re good to go.  You don’t need to waste your time searching for drivers on internet. All you have to do is browse the internet, play your games or sit back and watch a DVD. Manage your MP3 collection all from one system.

How does Nosonja differs from Arch?

Arch user needs to know how to configure their system under the hood. Nosonja is designed for begginers and all those who wants to have their computer ready for every day tasks. This is achieved through “nosonja-update”. All essential parts of system will be configured with that tool.

Origins of Nosonja?

Nosonja is Croatian word for big nose man. Just like all of us nosy people Nosonja is proud to be gifted in every possible way ;-)

Considering the incredible lack of Gnome 3 rolling releases, I would LOVE to see you concentrate on that. Also, I would like to offer my services as a French translator and to design a logo for the distribution if you need one.

I am about to try this out right now. Any chance you will get a x64 version?

I would love to be able to add my own apps or remix my own installation with a graphical installer, a graphical package manager, and then still have access to the arch repos and documentation.

My friends need a distro that has more security tools and anonymous communication clients installed in the live version, but we have issues with Ubuntu and even Debian. Arch fits our philosophy, but it is beyond most of our skill levels except for a few of us.

Having a gui installer is a huge step forward.
