Xfce 4.10 and NOSY!

Some of you might have already noticed that you upgraded to new Xfce 4.10. Those who haven’t noticed now you now why did Nosonja became so lightning fast!!! :) :) :)

There is also the NOSY! As of nosonja-update 0.2 new offical system update script is introduced. Arch uses pacman -Syu but that won’t work for Nosonja. What does this mean for old users? If you update your system with Yapan keep doing that. But if you update it manually with teminal instead of pacman -Syu run nosy. That’s it!

LOGO

Nosonja still doesn’t have logo. If you have time and you know to make it please post it here: http://forum.nosonja.org/index.php?topic=12.0

Thanks in advance!!!

Xfce 4.10 Testing

Xfce 4.10 is in Nosonja testing repo. Nosonja still doesn’t have many users but feedback of any kind would be great.

Anyone interested to test it please post me your feedback here:

How to fix update problem?

Hi people!

Nosonja has an update problem. There is a quick fix but user interaction is needed. There are 2 ways to fix this:

  • Open Terminal Emulator.
  • Insert and run this command:
      • sudo pacman -Sy nosonja-update
  • Log out and log in.
  • After this update should work correctly.

or

  • Open Software Manager.
  • Find and install package named “nosonja-update”.
  • Answer NO if Software Manager ask you will nosonja-update and pacman be upgraded first.
  • Log out and log in.
  • After this update should work correctly.

This bug couldn’t be solved automatically because pacman had dependency issue. Pacman was in SyncFirst list in pacman.conf so “nosonja-update” wasn’t updated neither.

According to archlinux.org, SyncFirst list will be removed in future version of pacman. In Nosonja it is removed as of nosonja-update-0.1.0. But it is still necessary to install “nosonja-update” first during update. I solved this by changing configuration of Yapan - Nosonja update manager.
